The Rules of Backyard Cricket by Jock Serong

Review published on September 29, 2016.

Far too much cricket jargon for me. I know the book is about two brothers growing up to become cricket professionals, but I glazed over quite a bit.

The pace is steady, each chapter opens with Darren in the boot then switches to how he got there.

The big twists towards the end didn’t have the impact for me as I think I was bored with all the cricket detail by that time. I only finished it as I wanted to know how Darren ended up in the boot.

One for the guys in my opinion, or the die hard cricket fan who will understand cricket speak!
