I loved this book. War stories always fascinate me, but this time being put into the character of a brave and feisty woman pulled at my heart as I realised through the author’s words just how dangerous a job working for the secret service in a war torn Paris, a foreign land for a British girl, could be. The perils that Edie faced were met by many during the war and yet no one back home knew what they went through to help save the world from the Nazi regime. I really felt like the role Edie played as an operative and the role of Vera back in London at the Foreign Office were based on real-life experiences, which is a great way for the author to lead you into a drama of immense magnitude.
