Genesis Fleet: Vanguard by Jack Campbell

Review published on November 3, 2017.

This wasn’t one of my usual types of books to read (though I used to read a lot of science fiction), but I was pleased that I had chosen it. Set in the future, our Earth is now known as Old Earth, and we live on other Earth-like planets.

It was an exciting read and, for once, had strong female characters that, thanks to Jack Campbell’s excellent writing, still have their feminine side and humour. As it was a prequel, this for me was even better, as it enables me and other readers to read the other books in this series. The other plus is that this Vanguard is the first in a new trilogy. For lovers of science fiction or even newbies to the genre, this is a good book to start with.
