To mark International Women’s Day 2018, Audible are releasing Angela Carter’s iconic feminist works as audiobooks for the first time. As Tracy Markham, UK Country Manager at Audible UK, noted: “Angela Carter’s novels and stories have played a huge part in the intellectual, cultural and creative life of British literature. They’ve been a vital inspiration to the feminist movement, emerging authors, and the wider reading community. We couldn’t be more delighted to bring them to audio for the first time, and to unite them with such a celebrated cast of narrators.”

Narrated by an all-star cast, the Angela Carter collection includes performances by Fiona Shaw, Tracey Ullman, Adjoa Andoh, Emilia Fox and Richard Armitage. Fiona Shaw, who performs The Magic Toyshop, said: “Angela Carter’s energy in writing is unmatchable. She makes the imagination the central power of existence. This makes her a perfect writer to be part of the Women’s day celebration. She flies a flag for the winds of change. I have enjoyed being part of this audio exploration of her work I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.”
